I was surprised again. History grabs from the first moment. Much emotion reconciling love, tragedy, friendship, together with a dream place like the Amalfi Coast.

Reading this book made Italy come to life, a page turner, all characters real, enjoyed every page. Thanks Elizabeth Adler, I fell in love with Italy.

This book was only OK.

Boring, Simple.

This is not my typical genre AT ALL, so this is a review with an asterisk! I'm not a huge fan of this type of "classic romance". I like my romances new adult/contemporary/angsty/full of chemistry, clever wit and banter. I only read this book because I am taking a trip to the Amalfi coast soon. A dull and uninspired book. A tepid romance occupies most of the book. It involves an older man, who at 64 is fit, athletic, attractive, silver-haired ...right. Sorry to say, but the majority of men in that age group show wrinkles, flab, and a decrease in stamina: it is almost incomprehensible that the author would "make" the hero that age. The small mystery was not even interesting. And seemed to result from the heroine suddenly and without evidence screeching "she murdered my father". Just a
