Another easy read from Colleen Coble. A local scientist is missing and when his body is found in Lake Superior, fowl play is discovered. A radial environmental group, headed by the conniving ex of one of the locals, shows up to dissuade more scientific endeavors. Also, Bree's beloved rescue dog Samson runs afoul of a dogfighting ring. A lot of subplots are here, and the author ties them up nicely while describing Michigan's Upper Peninsula in a manner so as to make you want to make reservations3.7 I rounded up.I have become a Colleen Coble fan This is my 6th novel and book #3 in the i> Rock Harbor series.. I enjoy reading about the recurring characters and just love Samson. However, in this story Samson is kidnapped by a dogfighting promoter. Yikes! I can take blood and stuff but not good at cruelty to animals ~ had to skips some parts. I do enjoy Christian mysteries. No profanity or graphic sex and although a Christian message it is similar to Jay Shettys Inspirational stories
Nice christian fiction, some mystery solving, romance...and search-and-rescue dogs! Part of a series.

Can I just say YAY!!!! (Of course I can, it's my review). I really like how relatable Colleen Coble's characters are. They seem human in their struggles and flaws. Bree is really struggling with trust and opening up her heart after she's been hurt so many times. Trust is a huge thing for me too. I did it! I finally guessed right! I didn't figure it all out, but I did think, "it's probably this person because you'd not expect it to be them," and they were one of the bad guys (and saying guys
Another great book by Coble! Glad to finally have a resolution to Bree and Kade's relationship. The disappearance of Samson was a shocker, but Coble did a masterful job of linking everything together.
Into the Deep is another chilling mystery. I've become quite attached to the Rock Harbor residents. The twist and turns kept me turning the pages. This book is hard to put down.I'm a huge dog lover and there are some scenes that I had a hard time reading. My heart hurt for those involved. I held on to the spiritual truth that God is with us in the deep issues and He will bring us through for His Glory. This series is a must read!
Great read!Really enjoyed this book as well as the ones previous! Colleen Coble makes all her books exciting! If you like a good, clean thriller I highly recommend her books! Haven't read a bad one yet!
