Ten Reasons Why You Should Read Arcadia Burns (And the Rest of the Series**Warning: I may be slightly hysterical and/or incoherent. Possibly because I read the first two of this series in a row and am now thirsting for the third...like Edward Cullen for Bella Swan. *cackles*1. The Protagonist: Rosa Alcantara. It's no secret that I love Rosa and I could honestly wax poetic about her. She's not as annoying as other YA heroines, and neither is she deeply good and special and wow Rosa you angel! No.Well, I wasnt paying attention for like half the book, so it might be fair to add half a star to that rating. 2.5 stars it is.I dont really know what to think of this series. On the one hand, its mafia and mythology, which should be cool. On the other hand, its not researched very well, and therefore fairly unrealistic, at least in my opinion. Something...beautiful."--Kai Meyer, Arcadia Burns*Sigh* I have mixed feelings about finishing reading this book. Half of me and my Sicilian soul is sated for the time being and the other half is screaming in Sicilian rage that I have to wait probably another year until the final installment. Curse you year long waits in between books!! Grrr...anyways.
LOVED IT!! Fast paced, exciting and thrilling. Kai Meyer has done it again. Can I just say to the ending...Addicted to this series but especially the setting. The fact that it is set in Sicily, makes it such a unique read and the descriptions of all the scenes is so intriguing. A special world that has been created in this trilogy, combining the Mafia and Arcadian dynasties....GENIUS.What I found with Arcadia Burns, that differs from the first instalment is that it is particularly focused on
this was of course another stunning book in this series. rosa explores more of her rape in this book- by finding a video shot once by her friend. alessandro was apparently there that night, but he didn't know it. it turns out tano raped her and michele watched/planned the whole thing. i'm still trying to figure out how davide (her dad) could be apollonio.her grandmother seems to be quite the crazy, hiding furs of dead arcadiens in the basement. i'm glad that rosa kind of makes peace with the
