(I got an e-copy of this novel through NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.)This is the third book in this series ("Seventeen") I read, and even though I haven't rated those any higher than 3/3.5 stars so far, I must say they do all fall in the "I liked it" category: there are slight changes in the genre itself (man-hunt, artifact/ancient secrets, special services...), things sometimes go too fast for serious character development, but all things considered, whenever I want anI stumbled across this series through Book Bub and decided to give it a go. I got the first book for free and then after finishing it, I immediately bought the remaining 3. As mentioned in my previous reviews, this is unlike any other paranormal story I've read before and so at first I was a little bit leery. I am used to the traditional vampires, witches and werewolves, but now I am hooked on the world of the Bastians and Corvirs. Empire tells the story of retired Bastian hunter, Conrad Greene.
Conrad Greene had tried to save a man- William who was like a brother but then he saw in Williams eyes he wanted to die. His heart had shattered when he saw hate in the eyes of the woman he loved. Loved it
I really enjoyed the third book of the Seventeen Series. Conrad lives a secluded life with the company and love of his dog. It has been years since Conrad has come into any contact with people until a plane crashes and finds there is a threat to assassinate the President. He goes to Washington to inform what he has found. He also runs into his long-life soul mate that he hasnt seen in decades. Neither of them has found new loves to occupy them. But you cant help who you love and you will be
