This is the big start of the eclipse.Griffiths ambition comes to a head as hes lost everything. Guts continues through his miserable life and Casca comes to grips with everything that has happened.I wont say much else but if youve gotten this far in the series this is not the volume to stop. In a sense this is what its all been building towards. All the pieces have been laid. Its time to knock em down.Art is great writing gains another depth.5 stars.

Finally!!! First volume worthy of a five star so far, with hopefully many more to come. No cheap tricks in this one; all the other less than subpar volumes led up to this great one. I find that as Im watching Griffith turn into the villain, I do not despise him like I once did. This is what most definitely what earned Berserks high status.

Oh yeah.... It's all coming together.

Yeah, Griffith is finally changing into one of God Hand. Love the anime, love the books, love the artwork. Only have manga 3-13 (covers the anime) because I think those are the best. The ones afterward have too much action/fights and less story in each book. But Id love to see a sequel-anime.

Here's another bit that might have been better without the first few volumes and Griffith's introduction as a demon, or might not have been. I wouldn't know. It was already a foregone conclusion, what happens here, but does it make any of this any less shocking? Any less of one of the worst and most harrowing scenes ever put on paper?
