The Gold is the second book I have read by Krista Wagner, and after reading Intent I had very high hopes.The Gold had hints of Cinderella - Amanda's sister Jane orders her around when their father is away. I really felt for Amanda straight from the beginning. The characters were very well written, especially Amanda and Jane, even Shane. I got the impression that as Amanda grew in confidence and as a person, The Gold also grew. But I felt there was a deeper meaning or moral that I completely

As a book reviewer I am often asked to read and review new childrens books.I am always glad to help other authors out and was exciting when asked to review The Gold by Krista Wagner.Well, the good news is I wasnt disappointed.The Gold is the kind of book many young girls will identify with.The main character is Amanda who doesnt quite fit in with her new life. She is battling with loss and disappointment.She withdraws into her own world and creates fantasy stories.Then, to make matters worse she



This isn't my first Krista Wagner book and it won't be my last because I've always liked her stuff. I liked Amanda and really felt for her from the start. I connected with her and just wanted to hug her and protect her. I also created fantasy worlds to escape my own world so I really connected with this girl. I usually don't like reading books that I know are for younger audiences but in this case, I didn't mind. In fact, I think adults should read this book. Maybe it will teach them something

At first the story started out so sad, I could hardly stand it. Watching a motherless girl get bullied by everyone in her life was difficult. But The Gold is like a knight in shining armor that we all need, and this little fairy story ended up charming me by the end! Such a sweet tale of restoration and hope for all the characters, and Amanda was a child I'd love to meet and love on myself!

Great emotion filled read! Oh man, my heart really went out to the girl in the story. The author had a particularly good grasp on the inner workings of a classroom and the subject of bullying. Excellent read. It reads more like a fairy tale or an old folklore. Very beautifully written, and delightfully strange.
