This review is for the entire series itself. I honestly love this series, the characters are unique and consistent and the story is always interesting. If your into high intensity sportsman stories or just stories that get you motivated to move then its probably something worth picking up. On the other hand it can be slow at some points, as it is a basketball manga, there is a lot of basketball related story and sometimes you don't get much of the normal, day to day lives the characters live

Growing up, Takehiko Inoue's Slam Dunk was an anime that has truly captured my imagination. Primarily because it features a basketball playing protagonist and the sport is entwined into the socio-cultural fabric of Philippine society. I frequently saw myself as Hanamichi Sakuragi, especially the way he bumbled around learning to play the sport.The source material, the manga has the more complete story as the animated series covered only around two-thirds of it. We may never know the reason why

This is the manga of basketball. So there are many cool scenes, but also there are many fanny scenes like the conversation between Hanamichi and Akagi. I liked it.

When I was a teen I bought the whole series and I started reading it. Back then the Italian publisher used to split a single Japanese tankobon into two thin volumes. This means the complete Slam Dunk series was composed of 62 volumes. I quickly lost track on the series and I decided to sell it. SIGH. I'm regretting that decision even now.So, I bought this first volume to see if I was going to like the series or not. The only way to get the Italian edition would be to buy it off Ebay. Why in

I've literally waited for ages to start this series and I'm glad I'm finally able to. Reading this first volume was fun. The main character is pretty atypical for this genre and the events turn into something unexpected every time. Inoue never disappoints me.
