Explanation During Books Ishtar's Odyssey: A Storybook for Advent (Advent Adventures #4)

A new Advent family devotional from the author of Jotham’s Journey! Fourth in a set of Advent adventure books for families, Ishtar’s Odyssey follows the ten-year-old son of a Persian wise man as their caravan follows a star across the desert. Ishtar would just as soon stay in the comfort of the palace, but slowly he learns that there’s much to see, do, and learn in this world that can’t be experienced in school. He eventually meets Jotham, Bartholomew, and Tabitha as he follows his father and uncles in their search for a newborn king.

Write Up About Books Ishtar's Odyssey: A Storybook for Advent (Advent Adventures #4)
I love these Advent books!

The past three Christmases our family has read Arnold Ytreeide's Advent devotional stories with our boys: Jotham, Bartholomew, and this year, Ishtar. (Next year we'll read Tabitha's Travels.) Each year we've enjoyed the characters, action, humor, cultural and religious information interwoven in the story, and especially the focus on Jesus' birth and verses at chapter's end. Ishtar's Odyssey was especially interesting because he's Persian (he's the son of one of the Magi), and their belief in

Weve loved all of Ytreeides advent books! They are a great way to travel through Christmas season with a regular moment each day to remember Christ.Adventure! Cliffhangers make you excited to continue the story the next day. As a prince, Ishtar has a unique set of adventures that run into some of Ytreeide's other characters adventures from time to time. There is mystery, death-defying excitement, scary moments, character transformation, and more.Bible Tie-Ins. My daughter loves how the adventure

Wow this was such a great book for advent! Review to come once I write all the other reviews I haven't done yet lol. ;)

Truth be told, I started reading this to my two-year-old son. He did listen, but the story wasn't one that captivated him and had a lot that he just didn't understand, so we decided to put this book on hold for next year (or the year after) when he will take more away from it. That being said, I read the rest of the book today because I enjoyed the story so much. (I am obviously bad at this waiting thing). I cannot wait to share this adventure with my son, but will have to wait a year or two

It was fun and enjoyed eating special food associated with the story.

Keeping our families focused on Christ at Christmas can be challenging in the busyness and distractions of life, sadly especially during this season. Simple and fun devotions, traditions, and songs are great tools. Now I have discovered Ishtars Odyssey which is a family story for Advent by Arnold Ytreeide. It is broken up into short chapters that are meant to be read together each day of Advent. Each chapter ends with a small devotion pulling out the spiritual lessons we can learn and how we can
