Hardway, Kamikaze, Lancer, Taipan, Cozen's War
540 pages, 192K words
HARDWAY - 2164. Intelligent life reaches out to Humanity using particle beam weapons and masers. The pilots and crew of the privateer carrier Hardway are first to fight in the conflict that quickly escalates from a bloody first contact to a full-scale, interstellar war.
KAMIKAZE - The privateer attack carrier Hardway invades Procyon to destroy an alien blockade gun meant to keep the human race confined. Hardway and her pilots meet their match in the Squidies' massive gun and the alien aces that protect it until they discover why the aliens are beating them. They must commit to paying for victory in war's only true currency.
LANCER - Privateer Admiral Harry Cozen needs pilots for an experimental fighter squadron, so he offers the inmates of Bailey Prison a deal. Colt is serving 5-7 and he knows the deal is too good to be true, but he still takes it. He and the rest of the C-Block nuggets learn to fly the new F-151 and prepare to sortie against alien aces on a mission that's far more dangerous than anyone's telling them.
TAIPAN - Hardway is drafted into a force group commanded by Harry Cozen's bitter rival from Staas Company. She stole his fighter program and his thousand new pilots. Now, she's determined to use them as cannon fodder. Hardway and the Lancers of the 133rd Fighter Test Squadron may be all that can keep her pilots alive in a knife-fight deep behind enemy lines.
COZEN'S WAR - The Privateers and the UN fleet have brought the fight to the Squidies' home system. The massive, Earth invasion fleet faces off against every ship the Squidies can muster. Harry Cozen is in command and this is his greatest gambit, but alien propaganda threatens to reveal the war's most damaging secret on the day the bloodiest battle of the conflict unfolds.

Critique Epithetical Books The War of Alien Aggression (War of Alien Aggression #1-5)
The book started out with so much promise. You have military science fiction, action, a little romance, and political diversions on the side. It is still a good book/series to read, but I got bogged down in it because of the "flow" or the way it was written.

Extremely well written I stumbled across this on Prime Kindle Unlimited and downloaded on a whim. I though I was reading only one book as I didn't read the description more thanA second before just DL the book.It was a four volume quasi-epic space battle with space marines and squidy lovers!I thought it was fantastic , good characterization believable and likable.No gratuitous profanity of any direct sex scenes made this a fun read I finished in two sick days

You hate to call a thing "dull" when it features entire species and civilizations duking it out with giant ships in space, but, well, it's, uh, dull. At least the first quarter or so, which is all I could plow through. I have no idea why these people were doing what they were doing. Maybe they have riveting back stories that unfold later in the work, but there's no sense of that. The one interesting point, **spoiler**, the use of a sneaky pseudo-false-flag operation to trigger a war, it was kind

Four and a half stars! What a fun amazing read! This is a collection of five novellas; some are better than others, but they all are good. Each novella tells its own story but they tie together to complete a larger tale. I give extra points for no "shock-waves" in space...There is non-stop page turning action, deceit and subterfuge abound in each story. The battle scenes leave you cringing and up on the edge of your seat. All this is good, but what really makes these stories are the characters;

Interesting storyIt was a tough choice between 3 and 4 stars. 3.5 is probably the right answer. It had a decent plot and ok character development.

An enjoyable and entertaining space opera that kept me turning the pages. The "spare" style and "bare-boned" characterisation may not be to everyones liking but I think it works well and certainly helps to keep the action flowing. There are a few formatting problems and typos but I barely noticed them. I was too busy enjoying the fast-moving story. You will be too.

I really liked this book. Unlike some of the other "space battle" type books this one was not just one battle after another. There was an interesting story line to go along with the action. If you like this type of book you should give this one a try.
