This is really just an enlargement on something already contained in another book, still very entertaining reading if a little sad for me.A great explanation for how Leafpool's kits were born, and why Squirrelflight kept it a secret from Brambleclaw. I wish there would have been some more about how the Thunderclan accepted them, but it was okay the way it was. Content: Slightly detailed when it came to the cat giving births, but not extremely graphic
There was so much emotion in this very short novella, Im surprised that I didnt tear up; though that could be because I was a little distracted with watching The Iron Fist.I had always wondered what had happened when Leafpool gave birth and I do remember what a shock it was to find that out in The Power of Three series.Reading it now though, Im hazy on what happened at the end of The New Prophecy series so I think Im going to read this after that series when I re-read these again. The cover is

It filled in a huge blank before I start The Power of Three. I found out what happens in between. It was great to know how Jaykit, Lipnkit,
I love this tale. I have always loved Leafpool and Squirrelfight story of "shared" kits, and Jaykit has always been one of my favorite cats. So yeah, not ashamed to say my eyes watered more than once while reading this novella.
