This is the second book in the Jake Roberts series. Once again Jake Roberts is after a serial killer. After Jake's involvement with Lori, the serial killer in the first book he is seeing too many similarities in the killings to not see that the connection is somehow there.Lori is in prison though and the new serial killer is just following in her tracks. This is a good psychological thriller but it doesn't quite measure up to the suspense, chills, and challenges of AFTER THE EVIL, the first book in the series. However, Jake, Mika, and Juan are at their best working together again to stop another serial killer. You are kept on the edge as the killer plans each of his murders leading up to the finale. The camaraderie and loyalty among Jake's fellow policeman and policewomen is heartwarming during the trials they go through.I heartily recommend

The second instalment of the escapades and adventures of Jake Roberts is an excellent follow up to the first book, After the Evil. The detective is facing a very puzzling case of yet another serial killer who is leaving no clues behind. He finds that he has to turn to Lori Powers who had fled the USA after leaving a trail of dead men and now has been captured and awaiting trial. I really like the authors' ability to touch on the human side of the character especially the emotion they feel and
