1.5 stars. I was hoping that since book 2 was an improvement over book 1, maybe book 3 might raise the bar. Unfortunately, my hopes were dashed. Even with the Maggie and Caleb dynamic being toned down, I found myself even more disenchanted with the visionary story being pushed to the forefront. It's downright creepy how much importance and reverence is placed on Maggie. Whether or not she accepts or condones it isn't the point. She can be humble all day long and it doesn't matter. Shelly Crane is a LITERARY GENIUS! I finished Defiance about an hour ago and I had to sit here at my desk and take a moment to gather my thoughts. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE this series and where it is heading. There are so many twists and turns for Maggie and Caleb that you never know what is going to happen to them.Shelly is a brilliant writer as she draws you in as a reader but you feel like one of the characters in her book. Shelly Crane you rock!!!The book starts with Maggie and Caleb and their family goes out to meet them and present Visionary i.e Maggie. Their has been no visionary for long long time and everyone is so happy getting back their visionary back and everyone seems to bow down always whenever they talk to her.

This book was definitely more emotional than the first 2. I enjoyed it throughly. There was no part in the book where I got bored - which is honestly incredible. A+ Shelly Crane, you are slowly becoming one of my favorite authors. (((Btw if my boyfriend isn't like Caleb we're going to have a problem)))

Wow, once again Ms. Crane has blown me away. I loved Defiance! Maggie and Caleb are an amazing pair, they complement each other nicely. I was amazed seeing Maggie step into the Visionary shoes, she was finally in her element. Caleb stepped up as well, making himself a force to be reckoned with.
