Evaluate Containing Books Undone by the Duke (Secrets in Silk #1)
Ms. Willingham is an excellent writer. This series of has an intriguing group of characters from which to draw upon for future books. In this first book in the series, Jonathan Nottoway, the Duke of Worthingstone, has traveled to Scotland to check out a property he has won from the local bad guy - the Earl of Strathland. Jonathan avoids London society due to a scandal in his family which resulted in his parents' deaths. Instead, he focuses primarily on building up his wealth and at some point,

At one time in her life Victoria Andrews was a vivacious and adventuresome young lady, until five years ago when a most traumatic experience had since turned her into a recluse. As a result, Victoria had not set foot outside her door (agoraphobia) for the last five years. Jonathan Nottoway, the fourth Duke of Worthingstone, was traveling to Scotland to investigate a new property when he was mistaken for a ruthless landowner and shot. Luckily for him, he was found and brought to a nearby house

Not a quick, easy readIf you are wanting something lighthearted, fast and sweet this is NOT it. Unless, you are a very fast reader this will take awhile. I really liked the story. It was just longer than I expected. Most of the POV switches are hard to follow because there are a lot of characters and names to remember. It was a great romance story, lots of twists and turns. I cant put my finger on it there were just some disjointed pieces. And why is Margaret getting married at the end of this

Undone by the dukeLovely story about trust and romance. How we are willing to do anything for love even oovercoming our deepest fear. I would like to read more of this series.

I am all for complicated stories and multi-layered plots. But some writers confuse a complicated plot with side stories about the secondary characters. I feel that this book is one of those "confused books". I like Jonathan much better than Victoria, but nothing was spetacular about either one of them. Jonathan is the typical supposedly tortured hero who, quite honestly, did not seem all that tortured to me. But at least he had characters. Victoria is a wet blanket. On my annoying heroine

Wonderful book! What a wonderful story. Very well written and kept me glued to the book. She over came so much for true love. I highly recommend this book.

A Promising StartThis is a decent historical romance and holds promise for an enjoyable series. While I did like the backgrounds and overall story of both the Duke and Victoria - I felt like it got a little jumbled and rushed in trying to execute it all. The whole Aphrodite 's Unmentionables was a fun addition that I can see being an amusing thread for the remaining books. I look forward to reading the rest of the series, just to see how the other sister's lives pan out.
